POS TG™ is a precision measurement system, designed to compute railroad track geometry.

Integrating inertial sensors with GPS receivers and an optical-gauge measuring system (OGMS), POS TG is a highly accurate and cost-effective alternative to traditional measurement technologies.

Technology: POS TG provides mm accuracy track geometry measurements, using non-contact technology at revenue-traffic speeds.

The integrated Inertial/GPS system allows for a variety of geometry measurements to be accurately computed including, longitudinal profile, horizontal alignment, gauge, superelevation and twist.

The system can also be used for railroad surveying to provide submetre-accuracy geographic positioning.
Components: POS TG integrates with hardware and software from Plasser American Corporation to provide a turnkey, track geometry solution of the highest quality and accuracy. Components include:

• PCS: POS Computer System
• IMU: High-accuracy Inertial Measurement Unit
• GPS: 10Hz embedded receiver and antenna
• Controller Software: Enabled for Windows platforms
